Dr. Gavin Middleton joins the NVH team with a passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate veterinary care while building lasting relationships with pets and their families.

A graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Middleton earned his DVM in 2022 after completing his undergraduate studies at Alabama State University. Prior to joining our hospital, he served as a Veterinary Corps Officer in the U.S. Army, where he gained valuable experience in patient care, teamwork, and leadership.

Dr. Middleton’s professional interests include surgery, internal medicine, dentistry, ultrasound, dermatology, and preventive care. He is Fear Free Certified, USDA Certified, and has completed the SOUND Ultrasound Course. He believes strongly in client education, preventive medicine, and fear-free handling techniques to help pets feel as comfortable as possible during their visits.

What Dr. Middleton loves most about veterinary medicine is the opportunity to form meaningful bonds with both clients and their pets. He values working together as a team to provide personalized care and help owners make informed decisions that fit their lifestyle and their pet’s needs.

Outside of work, Dr. Middleton enjoys hiking, traveling, fitness, cooking, reading fantasy novels, gaming, skiing, and discovering new music. He and his wife, Devin, share their home with two rescue Labrador mixes, Bree and Bonnie, who keep life entertaining and full of cuddles.
